Rules
- All entries must be received by 5.30pm on Thursday 31 May
2007. Entries should be emailed to Sarah
Coombes
- Before submitting their entry candidates must ensure that
they are able to meet other deadlines as laid out in the timeline,
should they reach the later stages of the competition.
- All entries should be submitted on the competition
entry form and should be no more
than two pages long.
- Two business references must be supplied – one of
these should be from a bank.
- Proposed rent for the Great Hall and ancillary spaces should
be in excess of £50,000 pa – though competition entrants
should note that the successful candidate will not necessarily
be the highest bidder.
- The minimum lease length that will be considered is a 5-year
term.
- Entries reaching the later stages of the competition must
be able to provide a formal business plan for the judges to consider.
- Entries reaching the final shortlist must be willing to
present their business plan to the judges in person.
- The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence
will be entered into.
- The winning candidate agrees to coverage
of their entry and business start-up in the competition’s
official media partner publication: Waltham
Forest Guardian.
